Kandice credits Ms. Witt with her deep interest in art. "I attended an open house and saw how intimate everything was; the students were so serious about their craft." <br /><br />A first-generation college student, Kandice struggled to find financial support to attend PAFA, where part of her tuition is covered by need and merit based scholarships. She credits another important figure in her life, her grandmother, who supported her efforts financially and emotionally. <br /><br />Kandice continues to work and teach at the Barn Studio, as well as continuing her duties as a work-study student in PAFA's Office of Student Affairs and as an usher, at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Arts.
