"I was always drawing as a child. My parents wanted me to study art but I chose to go to school for library science. After one semester I realized I was in the wrong field. It took me a couple of years to realize I really was interested in becoming an artist." Rachel began her studies at PAFA in Fall 2008. She received a merit scholarship and states she could not have attended PAFA without it.
"I am very impressed with the faculty and staff. PAFA has a classical education program that surpasses other schools. The different teaching styles make learning intense and interesting. I plan to be a sculpture major and have been collecting old light bulbs, broken glass and foil."
After graduation, Rachel plans to pursue her MFA.
